Ok friends – get ready to throw away all your excising chocolate chip cookie recipes and replace it with this one! We have made almost every chocolate cookie recipe that has crossed our path and this is the one that we always go back to. It has the perfect combination of crunch and chew and it’s not too flat and it’s not too puffy! It’s just perfect! When you want a traditional chocolate chip cookie this is the one!
Our Favorite Chocolate Chip Cookies
2 cups minus 2 tablespoons cake flour
1 2/3 cups bread flour
1 1/4 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
2 1/2 sticks (1 1/4 cups) butter
1 1/2 cups light brown sugar
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
2 large eggs
4 teaspoons vanilla
1 1/4 pounds semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions
- Sift flours, baking soda, baking powder, and salt into a bowl. Set aside.
- Using a mixer with a paddle attachment, cream butter and sugars together until light and fluffy – about 5 minutes. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Mix in the vanilla. Add the dry ingredients and combine on low speed. Don’t over mix. Add the chocolate chips and mix until incorporated.
- Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 24 hours. – Don’t skip this step!
- When you are ready to bake, preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Roll cookie dough in balls and bake on parchment lined baking sheet for about 10-12 minutes.
