It’s February and that means yummy strawberry valentine desserts!!!! Our sweet friend gave us permission to share this recipe with all of you!! We are pretty sure it will replace all other Strawberry Shortcake recipes you have – it shows up at every church event and has people running back for more!! We love this cake because it is made from ingredients that are always in the pantry and because it has a sugary-crumb topping!! It’s baked in a 9×13 pan which means its easy to cut and feed a crowd!!
Ingredients
2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
2 eggs
4 tablespoons melted butter
Directions
Mix the dry ingredients together and then slowly add the wet ingredients. Mix by hand until combined. Pour into a greased 9″x13″ glass baking dish.
Top with a mixture of:
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup cold butter, cut in
Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Do not overbake. Serve with sliced and sugared strawberries and a generous amount of vanilla whipped cream.
