This recipe is a family fall favorite!! Molasses, cocoa, cinnamon, and cloves make these chewy crinkle top cookies some of our favorite to bake during fall and winter. They go great with a hot cup of hot cocoa!
Crackle Top Cookies
Ingredients:
4 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup butter, softened
1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
1 cup molasses
**additional sugar for rolling
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- In a large bowl whisk together flour, cocoa, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves and salt.
- In a mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, beat butter until fluffy. Add sugar and mix. Add molasses and mix.
- Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
- Roll into 1″ balls and roll in sugar.
- Place on parchment lined baking sheet and bake for about 8-10 minutes.
These are so yummy and they taste like a cozy fall day. There is a slight crunch on the outside and then the inside is chewy. It’s easy to eat about 5 without even noticing!!
